I have mentioned Eric Scheibler in a few of my posts and feature him and his book prominently on the right side of my blog. Eric has a message for those IBOs not so badly duped by their up-line and cult training. I realize that he is usually mentioned and derided at almost each and every home recruitment party. He and his message have to be derided while prospective IBOs are in the kissy, lovey state of enchantment with the plan. Eric is a real problem or he wouldn't require so much propaganda to squelch his message.
I will not go into great detail about Eric's story; his book is available as an e-book for anyone that would like to read it at the Merchants of Deception web-site. The ribbon of truth that runs through his story is that his story is not all that unusual. Someone might believe he was the one in a million that actually made it to the higher realms of the Amway-Quixtar Jewel Aristocracy but because of his own personal problems and so forth he failed miserably and should take all the blame himself instead of blaming Quixtar and his up-line. I do not find this to be the case. Of course that is my opinion. He has been derided enough, so I do know there is a ongoing effort within Quixtar to spread mis-truths about him; a smear campaign. I do not believe their view of Eric holds any credibility whatsoever.
If, a really big IF, there were not so many other former jewel pin level IBOs who are no longer in the business, then you might think that Eric's plight was just an isolated case. Oh, no there are any number of high ranking IBOs that have left Quixtar and some of which are also telling what they know. I must ask you IBO, shouldn't any of this matter to you? After-all is not the glory that these people achieved also your goal now?
I am not trying to say that there is not some degree of income and stage accolade which may come with future success, but at what price? Wouldn't you be wise to do some real homework on just why so many of the more successful jewel level pins are no longer in the business? Have you ever thought about reading or investigating what they have said about your business? Could it all be lies? Even if half of it was true, it should cause you some alarm!
In a past post I described how the tool kingpins operated, and where people making the grade, who become an Emerald or a Diamond, fit into the plan. I will stand on what I have said before, the tool kingpins, like Fred Harteis do not share their golden goose. You may make some reasonable income from the purchase of tools at a discount, but you still will have to market them at retail to your down-line. This discount (or break as Eric describes it) was barely enough to offset his car and gas expenses. I can imagine what his car expenses would be like today with the price of gasoline topping $3.25 per gallon.
IBOs aspiring to jeweldom should also consider the tremendous expense of carrying out the up-line kingpin's direction-which become orders to you. Eric described how he was told he must attend a jewel level meeting at a faraway place and he'd have to foot the expense himself. Upon explaining that he and his down-line would probably not be able to make it for lack of money, he was told to figure it out. The advice from Fred Harteis was to go out and sell as many vacuums as it took to make it. I've related this story, so you know how things work, or do not work out.
An interesting aspect of Eric's experience, is that his expected income from Quixtar was barely half of what he was lead to believe it would be. Yes, Eric got the old "okey doke" if you know what that country expression means. He got not the promised money from Quixtar, and hardly anything from his up-line tool kingpin from his tool break. Eric realized that for him to make it he would have to fleece his already overburdened down-line. Eric had a conscious and it bothered him badly. He was "put to the wall" by his finances; his home was in danger of default and he had exhausted all his credit to fund his Amway-Quixtar dreams.
Mr. and Mrs. hardworking IBO: Is this also possibly in your future? Might you learn anything from those people like Bo Short, Don Lorencz and others? Will all your hard work go to eventually benefit the Devos and Van Andels who operate behind their Ja-Ri front to manage all the pin level businesses they have bought pennies on the dollar. Where have all the Diamonds gone? Is the Amagram and Achieve magazine like the old Kremlin wall on May Day? What faces are disappearing this month, this year? Do you believe that yours wouldn't?
My friend, if only Quixtarisacult Swami could wave a magic wand over your head and wake you from your deceptive cult thinking. Are you ready for a Quixtar Cult Intervention? I can only pray that it would be so
